How I Edit My YouTube Thumbnails Using Canva

In the video, I show you how I edit my thumbnails for my YouTube videos using Canva it is simple and easy to do when you get the hang of it.

Step-by-step instructions

  • Step 1: Go to Canva https://www.canva.com/ sign up via Google, or Facebook or just sign up using your email address or log in if you already have an account with Canva.

  • Step 2: Search for YouTube Thumbnails and you can choose a template to edit you can also filter the search by theme, style, or colour based on your channel content.

  • Step 3: I started with a blank template and added elements to you using the menu at the side of Canva.

  • Step 4: I added a photo grid, this can be found in the elements then the grid section of the menu

  • Step 5: Once I choose my desired grid I filled half of the grid with a solid background this will vary depending on the type of video you have created.

  • Step 6: Add the title of the video to the half of the grid you changed the background you changed the colour of, you can do this by going to the text part of the menu. Once you have chosen the type of text you would like you can then change the font, size and colour to what you prefer.

  • Step 7: Adding the photos you want to the grid is easy all you have to do is go to the upload part of the menu and click upload media then select the photos you want to upload click and drag the photos to the position of the grid you want them to be.

  • Step 8. In order to save your thumbnail to your desktop go to the share tab then download -and choose the file type, you want your thumbnail to be downloaded as.
